USA.GOV contains lots of helpful information on how to start a business including:
how to register and obtain licenses and permits information for the self-employed and how to apply for grants, taxes and local information. This site also contains an interactive forum so participants can get answers to their questions.

SCORE

SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is a national non profit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. Local SCORE volunteers meet individually with business owners to offer help with business growth, management and financing.
